Walmsley Dental is now in its second generation. The practice was founded on Manchester Road in 1984 by Stephen and Heather Walmsley, and is run today by their son Dr Edward Walmsley (GDC No. 203897) and his wife Emma Walmsley — and we’ve been part of Tameside since 1984.

That continuity matters for implant patients. Implants are a long-term tooth replacement, and the practice that places them needs to still be there in 5, 10, 20 years for hygiene, monitoring, and any repairs. All-on-4 full-arch implants — from £10,000 per arch. A fixed full set of teeth secured on just four implants per arch. Ideal for patients who have lost or are losing all of their upper or lower teeth. Often delivered in a single visit (“teeth in a day”).

All-on-6 full-arch implants — from £12,000 per arch. The same concept as All-on-4 but with two additional implants for greater stability — typically recommended where bone quality allows.

Same-day implants. For straightforward cases with adequate bone, we can place an implant immediately after extracting a damaged tooth, with a temporary crown the same day. Decided case-by-case at consultation.

Bone grafting and sinus lifts. When the jawbone needs rebuilding before implant placement. Quoted separately.

How much do dental implants cost?

Crucially, we provide a fixed written quote after consultation — no surprise add-ons. Our All-on-4 full-arch price is £10,000 per arch, and you get a fixed written quote after your consultation. Is the implant procedure done in one visit?

For most cases, no — the implant placement is a single appointment under local anaesthetic, then we allow 3–4 months for the implant to integrate with your jawbone before fitting the final porcelain crown. For straightforward cases with strong bone, we can sometimes provide same-day teeth.

What if I need bone grafting before I can have implants?

Bone grafting and sinus lifts are quoted separately and depend entirely on what your CBCT scan shows. Many patients we see initially worried about bone don’t actually need grafting once we’ve taken the scan. We’ll give you an honest assessment at consultation — and we won’t recommend grafting unless it’s genuinely necessary.

Can I see a written treatment plan before I commit?

Yes — every implant patient leaves their first appointment with a written treatment plan and fixed quote. The £50 consultation fee is fully redeemable against any treatment you choose to proceed with. Nothing is booked until you’re ready.
