Walmsley Dental is now in its second generation. The practice was founded on Manchester Road in 1984 by Stephen and Heather Walmsley, and is run today by their son Dr Edward Walmsley (GDC No. 203897) and his wife Emma Walmsley — and we’ve been part of Tameside since 1984.

Invisalign Lite (5-7 month cases) — from £3,500 all-inclusive. For mild cosmetic crowding or minor relapse from previous orthodontics. Same all-inclusive package.

Invisalign + Composite Bonding combo. Many of our Tameside cosmetic cases are Invisalign first (move the teeth into the right position), then a few sessions of composite bonding to perfect the shape. We package these together at a discount versus paying for each treatment separately. Quoted on consultation.

SureSmile clear aligners. Used in cases where the clinical picture favours SureSmile over Invisalign — typically slightly more complex movement plans. Same all-inclusive philosophy, from £3,500, or £4,500 for more complex cases.

Yes. Platinum Provider status is awarded by Invisalign UK based on annual case volume. That clinical volume means we’ve seen most of the complexity patterns that come up in mid-treatment, and we can resolve them quickly.

What’s the difference between Invisalign and SureSmile?

Both are clear aligner systems. Invisalign is the bigger international brand; SureSmile is owned by Dentsply Sirona (the same German clinical group behind our Astra implants). Some cases plan better with SureSmile’s software, others with Invisalign — we use whichever is clinically better for your case. At Walmsley you don’t pay extra for either system; both start from £3,500 all-inclusive.

Do you offer 0% finance for Invisalign in Tameside?

Yes — we often treat adult relapse after teenage orthodontics at Walmsley. Most relapse cases are short Invisalign Lite treatments (5-7 months). We’ll give you an honest assessment at consultation about whether your case is a candidate for shorter treatment or whether it needs full Invisalign.

Will I need retainers after Invisalign?

Yes — teeth shift throughout life, so retainers are essential to keep your new smile in place. Custom-fit retainers (Vivera or 3D-printed clear retainers) are included in the all-inclusive price. You should wear them nightly for the rest of your life — the same way you’d brush your teeth nightly. Most patients adapt to retainers within the first week.
