Walmsley Dental is now in its second generation. The practice was founded on Manchester Road in 1984 by Stephen and Heather Walmsley, and is run today by their son Dr Edward Walmsley (GDC No. 203897) and his wife Emma Walmsley — making us one of the longest-established dental practices in Tameside.

Invisalign + Composite Bonding combo. Many of our Tameside cosmetic cases are Invisalign first (move the teeth into the right position), then a few sessions of composite bonding to perfect the shape. Will I need retainers after Invisalign?

Yes — teeth shift throughout life, so retainers are essential to keep your new smile in place. Custom-fit retainers (Vivera or 3D-printed clear retainers) are included in the £4,500 all-inclusive price. You should wear them nightly for the rest of your life — the same way you’d brush your teeth nightly. Most patients adapt to retainers within the first week.
