Composite Bonding from £350 per tooth — see your new smile before you commit

Composite bonding is the fastest, most affordable way to transform your smile in a single visit. We sculpt tooth-coloured composite resin directly onto your existing teeth — closing gaps, fixing chips, brightening discolouration, reshaping uneven edges — with minimal or no drilling and no anaesthetic in most cases.

Edge bonding from £300 per tooth. Full-face bonding from £350 per tooth. Six-tooth front smile makeover from £1,800. Free smile-design consultation included, with a hand-sculpted composite preview applied directly onto your teeth so you see and feel the result before any permanent work.

We’ve been transforming smiles in Droylsden since 1984. Family-run by Dr Edward Walmsley (GDC No. 202897) and his wife Emma Walmsley. 4.9★ from over 340 patient reviews. No rotating clinicians, no upsell pressure — just craft.

The Bespoke Composite Preview — Our Differentiator

Most cosmetic dentistry sells you a digital simulation. We do it differently. At your free consultation, Dr Walmsley sculpts a temporary composite trial smile directly onto your teeth. You wear it home, eat with it, smile in the mirror, take selfies, show your partner — then come back and decide whether to make it permanent.

This is genuinely rare. It means no software guesswork, no surprises, no regrets. You only commit when you’ve actually lived with your new smile.

Composite Bonding Pricing

  • Edge bonding (chips, slight reshaping) — £300 per tooth, single visit

  • Six-tooth front smile makeover (“Social Six”) — £1,800–£2,400, 1–2 visits
  • Whitening + bonding combination — from £2,150 (we whiten first, then match the bonding to your new shade)
  • Free smile-design consultation with hand-sculpted composite preview — included

0% finance available on treatment plans over £1,000, spread interest-free over 12 months. Longer-term plans available at low APR.

When Composite Bonding Is the Right Choice

Composite bonding is ideal when you want:

  • Fast results — done in a single appointment for most cases
  • Affordable transformation — significantly cheaper than veneers
  • Reversibility — bonding can be polished off or adjusted; your underlying teeth aren’t drilled or permanently changed
  • Repairability — small chips can be topped up in a single visit, no replacement needed
  • To trial a smile transformation — many patients bond first to test the look, then upgrade to porcelain veneers later

If you want a longer-lasting (10–15+ years), completely stain-proof result, porcelain veneers may be a better fit. We’re happy to discuss both at consultation.

The Treatment Process

  1. Free smile-design consultation — Dr Walmsley takes clinical photos, discusses what you’d change, and sculpts a hand-made composite trial smile directly onto your teeth so you see and feel the result. You leave with a written treatment plan and fixed quote.
  2. Treatment appointment — typically 60–90 minutes for a full smile. We thoroughly clean each tooth, apply tooth-coloured composite in layers, sculpt and shape it, then polish to a natural finish.
  3. Aftercare — eat normally immediately. We recommend regular hygiene appointments to keep bonding looking fresh and to spot any wear early.

How Long Does Composite Bonding Last?

Typically 5–8 years before needing a polish or refresh, depending on your habits. Bonding is polishable at hygiene appointments and easily repaired — a small chip can be topped up in a single visit without replacing the whole tooth. Avoid biting nails, chewing pens, opening bottles with your teeth, and grinding (we can fit a night guard if needed).

FAQs

What is composite bonding made of?

This treatment uses a composite resin which is moulded and sculpted to the edges and surfaces of the teeth by our professional team of cosmetic dentists. The resin is a great mimic of the natural surface of the tooth, making for a subtle transformation that patients just love.

How long does the treatment take?

This depends a little on how many teeth we are treating and what kind of issue or issues we’re addressing, but most treatments can be achieved in just one appointment.

Is it painful?

This is a minimally-invasive treatment, with no needles or drilling necessary, so you’ll be comfortable throughout.

What kind of issues can composite bonding be used to address?

  • Small chips.
  • Small cracks.
  • Small gaps between the teeth.
  • Minor misalignment.
  • Misshapen teeth.
  • Teeth of differing sizes/lengths.

What is the treatment process like?

First, a special dental resin will be applied to the teeth, and the correct shade of composite will be chosen so that it fits in seamlessly with the rest of your smile. We’ll then cover the tooth or teeth with an adhesive liquid that helps in the bonding process before we apply the bonding resin.

We’ll then carefully sculpt the resin into shape, moulding it into the desired form before making any minor adjustments needed and applying polish for the final flourish.

How long does composite bonding last?

Composite bonding lasts 5-7 years and can be easily repaired, whether it comes to the end of its natural lifespan or is damaged in an accident or injury.
